I don't mention this too often, but if y'all felt like tossing over a few Coins of the Realm to help keep RFS on the air - it would be deeply appreciated. PayPal donations can be sent to: glithndr@whitestar.org

Rotation/ID's/Etc

I'm still working on the rotation. I've tried to go at this from a couple of different angles, but I think I've found on that'll work.

Thanks, as always, for listening and for your support!

Gonna have to see if I can grab those to check them out tomorrow night! :)

Just some songs that I've heard that I want to get into a show soon...

Ray Charles - At the Club
Duran Duran - Love Voodoo
Sarah McLachlan - Black (Live)

Next Tuesday's theme will be, in fact 'Armageddon'...

The end of days. Judgement Day. Whatever you want to call it...

Off the top of my head, I'm thinking...

Johnny Cash - The Man Comes Around
The The - Armageddon Days (Are Here Again)
R.E.M. - It's the End of the World...

Maybe even some Def Leppard (Armageddon It)...

Feel free to post your suggestions/requests/ideas... it'll give me a chance to chase down the songs... :)

Guess that means I should start using it...

I'll start posting my playlists on Wednesday (or so - it takes a bit to edit down the playlist into something readable) and theme ideas.

As the DMCA won't allow us to do true 'Featured Artist' blocks any more, I've been trying to think of some themes... it's just damn hard. I do have a couple that I think would work:

* Armageddon...
* Rain (or Storms)...

I'll try to plan at least half an hour. If y'all can think of some good requests, we might be able to do an hour.

Also - thoughts on the 'Alphabet Game' and doing New Age/Ambient from 11p to Midnight (Central)?

Join us for the Suite, Tomorrow Night from 9p to 11p Eastern!

We'll be posting connection info here later today. Once I'm sure that everything is working properly. *smiles*

See you then!

Still, actually, in recovery mode from everything that's going on here... so no real featured artist again this week. This can be a good thing - but I'm hoping to get back to having a featured artist again soon. Maybe the Barenaked Ladies next month, when their new album comes out.

August 15th...Collapse )

Thanks for Listening!

Current Music: Leonard Cohen - First We Take Manhattan

The first half-hour of the show was really inspired by two songs - US3's 'Cantaloop', and Corinne Bailey Rae's 'Put Your Records On'... After that, it was anything goes... which can be fun.

And I still love gregtrotter's comment on IRC:

"Another "WTF am I listening to" moment brought to you by The Suite."

And with that, my job here is complete - for this week. Time to bring that same feeling to the rest of the universe now...

Good Afternoon...

We've got a high-school spring concert to attend tonight... it starts at 7:00pm here and we aren't sure how late it'll run.

So it's quite likely that I'll end up missing the show tonight. Sorry! If I get back and it's close to 9:00pm still, I'll hurry and hop on - otherwise, I'll catch you next Tuesday!

Later!
